The Perfect Summer Tan in the Middle of Winter
It's winter and we don't all live in Florida, and I bet some of you miss that summer tan while you play in the snow. I much prefer waiting for a family cruise to get a tan. While I have never gotten in a tanning bed or used spray tans because of the inconvenience and horror stories I have heard, I now found the perfect solution. It's called Glow 2 Go and they are a tan in towelette form.
Seriously, NO mess, NO streaks, NO Cheeto faces. Think of a pre-wedding glow type of tan! (P.S. not the pre-wedding glow horror in Bride's Maids)
In the beginning, I was scared to try these, as I don't have experience with fake tans. Needless to say, I didn't want to end up looking like an Oompa Loompa. I decided to try one towelette on one leg to see the difference before using them on my face and entire body. I was surprised that the towelette looked like a normal towelette. As in, it didn't have a "tan" color. At first, I didn't notice much change, so 4 hours later, I used another one on the same leg before I went to sleep. (YES, this won't stain your clothes or sheets) When I woke up, I could tell the difference! I gotta say, I love the color. It's not too dark, and not too light. It really gives you a glow! I then felt safe enough to use one on my face and finished the rest of my body. I ended up using 6 on my entire body for the shade I needed. I used 4 for my legs and half my belly; i then used the other two on my face, arms, chest, and belly.
I noticed there were no streaks on my skin, so I was happy. Each towelette comes prepackaged individually, so there is no mess. I also find this is very convenient for traveling, as I would take these on cruises to get a tan before I tan! Now, I'm fairly white, so keep that in consideration when comparing the color change. As you can see, I used it on my right leg.
My tips for using Glow 2 Go
- Shave the day before, and exfoliate. If you want, use one behind your neck to make sure you aren't allergic. I have sensitive skin, so I test everything this way to make sure I won't get a rash.
- Use one towelette at a time, evenly throughout the area.
- Concentrate on where you want the darkest tan first, and then use the rest of the towelette where you want the least. For example, if you are just doing your legs, quickly use it on your legs, and then use the same towelette on your feet before it dries.
- Work quickly, but smoothly. Don't concentrate your hand in one spot. Move your hands in a circle.
- Wash your hands thoroughly afterwards. If not, your palms will be tanned as well.
- Don't get dressed for about 15 minutes. Make sure you are dry all over. I did a little dance and a few jumping jacks to make sure I was ready to go.
- If one towelette is tan enough for you, use another. For the look I wanted I, I used 2 in most places.
- After getting the look you want, use one towelette per week to keep up your tan! Yes this means this box will last you for at least a month. It will last me about 10 -14 weeks.
