We are almost two weeks into the New Year, and most people have already ditched their New Years Resolutions. Did you know that about 30% of people ditch their resolutions by the second week? Unfortunately only 8% of people make achieve their resolutions, that is why it is important to make reasonable goals. If you are like me, you are still motivated to achieve your goals. Tips
- It is important to make a realistic plan filled with small achievable goals. Make it a manageable challenge.
- Have a support system: if you don't have anyone to support you, there are facebook groups you can search for and find a buddy.
- Keep track of your progress; there are many apps to help you along the way. For weightloss, MyFitnessPal is my favorite.
- It is ok to have a bad day, just don't turn it into a bad week.
- If you have kids, find a way to involve them.
- Remember to reward yourself. If your resolution is to lose weight, don't reward yourself with a cheat meal. Think about it this way, if you were to quit drinking alcohol, you wouldn't reward yourself with a drink after a month. Instead try some new shoes, clothes, or beauty products.
- Most importantly, do it for yourself.
