In my search of a healthy lifestyle that fits me, I have gone through many types of seeds. Sunflower, pumpkin, flax, and chia seeds. I have heard of Hemp seeds but after trying chia seeds I have stayed away, but after doing some research I decided to give it a try.
Hemp Hearts have 10 grams of protein, 10 grams of Omega 3 & 6, and only 3 grams of carbs. Unlike the other seeds, they are soft. They have a comparable taste to Sunflower seeds. You can sprinkle them onto almost any dish. I folded 2 tablespoons into my yogurt one morning and it was delicious. I also garnished these Fudgies with the seeds and they blended in perfectly.
Manitoba Harvest was nice enough to send me an 8 oz bag to taste and review, and they will also send one of my readers a bag as well!
I decided to get a little creative with this bag. I have been craving pesto pasta like my aunt used to make me. So I asked her for her recipe and changed a up a bit to incorporate the seeds.

This recipe took just 15 minutes to make. It was perfect for a healthy dish on busy weeknight. My son absolutely loved it, which is a surprise because he rarely likes any of the healthy dishes I make. Toddler Approved!
